M My journey into the world of sharpening began somewhat unexpectedly. My mother-in-law, a dedicated dog groomer, often mentioned her struggle to find a reliable person to sharpen her grooming equipment in Dublin. Intrigued by this niche need, I began assisting her with dog grooming and quickly discovered a new passion. Recognizing the potential in this field, I decided to delve deeper.
H Hello, my name is Cathal O’Donovan, and I am the proud owner of O’Donovan Sharpening, established in 2024. After spending 12 enriching years in Australia, I decided to return to my roots in Ireland. Upon my return, I realized that continuing in the construction industry was no longer a viable option for me, prompting a significant career shift.
At OD Sharpening, we know the value of sharp, reliable tools. Whether you’re a groomer, chef, or craftsman, having well-maintained equipment is crucial. With my professional training and dedication, I ensure your tools are in top condition.
I conducted thorough research on how to become a professional sharpener and found a reputable sharpening course in England. Eager to learn and excel, I enrolled in the course and successfully completed it in August. Currently, I offer sharpening services part-time, but my goal is to transition this into a full-time career.
